Security & workplace engineer, writing the quiet parts of the stack.
I'm Michiel Devliegere — an engineer working at the seam between cloud, endpoints, and the people who use them. I design and operate production infrastructure, manage device fleets, and build small independent apps under the PixelMesh label in my own time.
I've spent the better part of a decade on the side of the stack most people would rather not think about — the part that has to be boringly reliable, predictably secure, and quiet enough that nobody notices it's there.
Day to day that means cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, endpoint management across macOS, Windows and Linux fleets, identity, automation, and the long tail of policies, scripts, and pipelines that keep a company running.
On the side I ship small, opinionated apps under the PixelMesh label. Local-first, no accounts, no tracking — software I'd want to use myself.
Small apps. Made carefully.
Four disciplines, practiced daily.
- 01 Cloud Infrastructure Production-grade architectures on AWS and Azure. Designed for reliability and the team that maintains them at 3am. AWS · Azure · Terraform
- 02 Workplace Engineering Fleet management for macOS, Windows and Linux. Zero-touch deployment, secure baselines, tooling that disappears. Jamf · Intune · MDM
- 03 Security Hardening, monitoring, response. Quiet, layered defence from endpoint policy to identity and network segmentation. Endpoint · IAM · SIEM
- 04 Automation PowerShell, Bash, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code. If it happens twice, it runs on its own the third time. PowerShell · Bash · Actions
